Summer Associate

We are seeking applications for the position of Summer Associate. We expect this position to begin in 2010 and is generally a minimum of 10 weeks.  We have several positions open but no funding available. Summer associates must have funding from other sources or be willing to volunteer full-time during the summer. 

Duties: The Summer Associates are responsible for performing intake as well as handling cases involving public benefits, consumer matters, housing, discrimination, confidentiality and trust and estate matters. Additionally, they are responsible for administrative support in general program issues.

Requirements: Candidates must be second year law students (2Ls) eligible to be certified under Pennsylvania Practice Rules and must possess a committed, pitch-in attitude; an ability to interact with individuals who are diverse in race, sex, class, ethnicity and sexual orientation; excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage a heavy and fast-paced case-load and multiple priorities; and familiarity with word processing software.
