Summer Associate
AIDS Law Project of
Pennsylvania (ALPP) is a nonprofit, public interest law firm located in
Philadelphia that provides legal representation, advocacy, and referrals
to persons with HIV/AIDS throughout Pennsylvania. ALPP is seeking
applications for the position of Summer Associate. We expect this
position to begin in 2010 and is generally a minimum of ten-weeks. We
have several positions open but no funding available. Summer associates
must have funding from other sources or be willing to volunteer

Duties: The Summer Associates are
responsible for performing intake as well as handling cases involving
public benefits, consumer matters, housing, discrimination,
confidentiality and trust and estate matters. S/he is additionally
responsible for administrative support in ALPPs general program issues.
Requirements: Second Year Law Student
eligible to be certified under Pennsylvania Practice Rules preferred; a
committed Apitch-in@
attitude; ability to interact with individuals who are diverse in race,
sex, class, ethnicity and sexual orientation; excellent verbal and
written communication skills; ability to manage a heavy and fast-paced
case-load and multiple priorities; and, familiarity with word processing
software.
