We are distressed to report that the federal government shutdown will cause an interruption in SNAP benefits. The U.S. Department of Agriculture Department, which operates the SNAP program, informed all states to hold next month’s benefits.

Even though payments will be stopped, Pennsylvania’s DHS continues to operate during the shutdown. Beneficiaries should continue to renew and apply as usual. More information can be found on PA’s SNAP website
