On Saturday, the AIDS Law Project family came up big at the second annual LGBT Elder Initiative Legal Clinic at the William Way Center. Seven of the AIDS Law Project’s lawyers, two paralegals, and one notary volunteered to prepare free Wills and other documents for LGBT seniors. As a result, approximately 75 documents were drafted for 25 people. (Final numbers to come.)
Several teary-eyed seniors reported feeling invisible and lonely coming out in an unwelcoming era; and that they were overwhelmed the AIDS Law Project donated time and resources to secure their legal rights.
